We are delighted to share that our Technical Director (Digital), Gary Barley, has been officially appointed as an AI Ambassador for Women in BIM.
The AI Ambassador Programme
As AI technologies become more deeply embedded within design, construction and asset management, many professionals are looking for greater clarity around practical applications, emerging opportunities and responsible adoption. Women in BIM established the AI Ambassador programme to help its members navigate this with confidence.
Ambassadors are trusted voices within the community, appointed alongside other industry leaders to share practical experience and considered perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that AI presents. Their role is to support members in understanding how AI is shaping the future of work, encouraging informed and responsible approaches to its adoption across the sector.
Gary joins this programme as a direct reflection of the AI implementation work he has been leading at Pascall+Watson over the past years, from the earliest stages of experimentation with large language models and diffusion image generation, through to an ongoing commitment to training and upskilling across the practice.
Gary’s First Session
Gary made his first appearance as Ambassador, speaking at the Women in BIM Summer Evening Talks on AI and the Architect, held in collaboration with RIBA London. His presentation, “The Realities of Bringing AI to a Workplace”, drew directly on our journey at Pascall+Watson and offered the audience an honest and practical account of what AI adoption really looks like from within a working practice.
