PASCALL+WATSON HONOURED AT THE Atmospheric Reflections of the North, the newly unveiled chandelier installation at MANCHESTER AIRPORT

We are proud to share that Manchester Airport has assigned dedicated tags to Pascall+Watson and members of our team as part of Atmospheric Reflections of the North, the newly unveiled chandelier installation at the heart of Terminal 2 Security East.

The installation marks the completion of the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP), a £1.3bn, 10-year investment that has created a world-class gateway for the North. Made up of 482 individual parachutes, each carrying a bead from the airport’s original Terminal 1 chandeliers, the artwork draws on Manchester Airport’s historical connection to the RAF parachute regiment. Each numbered tag is a permanent dedication to the people and organisations who contributed to the programme.

Our team was part of this story in more ways than one. During Phase 2 of MAN-TP, we worked with MAG (Airports Group) to support students from Manchester University’s architecture school to find the right home for these chandeliers, identifying the generous double-height space as passengers exit the outbound security hall as the ideal location. Seeing that early idea now realised as a landmark installation in the building we helped to design, is genuinely special. We are truly honoured to be permanently recognised for our contributions to one of the most significant chapters of Manchester Airport’s history.

Our four tags are:
246 – Theresa Pan
247 – Julian Carlson
249 – James Rogers
373 – Pascall+Watson

Congratulations to everyone involved in MAN-TP, and a sincere thank you to Manchester Airport for this thoughtful and lasting recognition.
