Pascall+Watson Wins NCE 2026 Airport Expansion Award for Manchester Airport Transformation Programme
Delivering the Manchester Airport Transformation Programme took more than good design. It took a team of committed, focused individuals who adapted as the programme evolved and kept delivering regardless of what came their way.
The Manchester Airport Transformation Programme ran from 2015 to 2025 across two major phases, with multiple workstreams running simultaneously through a live, operational environment. Over that decade, our team changed shape, grew, and adapted. Architects, planners, BIM specialists, and designers brought their expertise to a programme unlike most others in scale and complexity.
At peak delivery, up to 60 Pascall+Watson team members were working across different terminal areas at once, all while millions of passengers continued to move through the airport. Keeping that balance required precision, coordination, and people who never lost sight of the goal.
Like many businesses, we faced incredibly difficult decisions during the pandemic. Not everyone who started this journey with us was able to see it through to the end. This award belongs to them as much as anyone.
To every person who contributed across those ten years, whether you were there at the start, the end, or somewhere in between, thank you.
This is yours.
