University for the Creative Arts, Masterplan & Campus Development
The masterplan delivers a strategic framework for the sustainable expansion of the university
Following a rigorous competitive assessment process, Pascall+Watson were commissioned by the University for the Creative Arts to develop a strategic 10-year masterplan across its four campuses - Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham and Rochester.
The primary objective of the exercise was to provide a framework for the university’s planned capital investment; an investment that would see it maintain its position as one of the country’s premium educational establishments for the creative industries.
Subsequent to the masterplan, Pascall+Watson have delivered numerous projects across the estate, most notably at Farnham and Epsom.
At Farnham, we designed a new Film & Media Centre which houses a multitude of cutting-edge technological equipment. Facilities include filming workshops, performance spaces, lecture theatres and an acoustically sealed recording studio.
Also at Farnham, we designed two new modular academic & support staff office buildings and a new student housing scheme that provides accommodation for up to 250 students. Arranged as a series of linear apartment blocks, the design responds to and takes reference from the local vernacular.
