With the growing awareness of the future of urban aerial transport within our cities, the demand for a viable service is increasingly capturing public interest, in an industry seeking sustainable technology.
The potential of what would become aerial taxi networks connected to key transport hubs in major cities is envisaged to be just a few years away.
With this in mind we invited our talented team of architects and designers to put forward their fresh ideas in response to this captivating subject.
Vertiports are the areas where people will board and disembark from eVOTL (electrical vertical take-off & landing) vehicles. Here we showcase a selection of the team's ideas, which are designed to be a future part of an overall transport hub concept in the London Waterloo area.
They considered a number of key drivers including the urban fabric, connectivity to existing infrastructure and promoting holistic sustainable electric transport associated with the hub.
