Pascall+Watson’s scheme for a new link bridge and annex extension at the Dyson School of Design Engineering, at Imperial College London, has received planning approval from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The bridge will connect the newly refurbished Dyson Building with the School’s teaching facilities and studios within the Observatory building.
The minimalist glazed structure provides a discrete and unobtrusive intervention that both respects and highlights the architectural merits of the historic original building.
The Dyson Building, dedicated to the school’s teaching and research in engineering innovation and entrepreneurship, is due for completion of its second, and final, stage of refurbishment in September 2018.
