Retail - Responding to Change

"How to utilise the current situation to evolve airport retail for the better?"

We have developed our ideas about retail opportunities in the future terminal, to take into account new trends in passenger behaviour and the effect of technology in

the new commercial world.

Arrivals - Adapt & Manage

“How do we know that it is safe to fly when health and hygiene are uncertain?”

The Arrivals process should inspire confidence and give the impression of ease of use. There should be no doubt in the minds of passengers that it is safe to fly again regardless of the impact of Covid-19

We collected our thinking together with the latest guidance to perceive what will become a new arrivals experience going forward.

Staff Safety & Well Being

“How do we provide protection and confidence in airport terminal buildings?”

As airports start the recovery process Staff Safety and Well Being will be critical to terminal operations.

The opening up of the airport will place a new onus on hygiene for the benefit of staff and highlight the importance of a hygienic interface between passengers and staff.

Wayfinding Strategy

"How do we embrace change and maintain confidence?"

There is no definite answer as to what is ahead of us. The only certainty we have under the current circumstances is that airport operations will continue to evolve.

At Pascall+Watson we have looked at how Integrated Wayfinding will guide passengers through new concepts in flexible airport terminal planning. An Integrated, multichannel wayfinding system is needed to support operations and provide absolute certainty in passenger wayfinding - Active Journey Management.

Wayfinding Design

"How can we provide guidance and reassurance to passengers?"

The Covid-19 crisis will require fast adapting solutions. At Pascall+Watson, we create operating environments that are intuitive and easy to use. We have the knowledge to turn complex problems into an enjoyable experience.

Our in-house Wayfinding Design team provides a full design service from initial conceptual discussion through to implementation. This includes temporary, permanent and dynamic signage.

Airport Planning

"How can we plan a safe airport terminal?"

A safe terminal will have planned processes that are compliant with current guidelines and meet public expectations for hygiene and smooth operation.

Our Airport Planning team will build and test new operating scenarios in terminal planning. They work together with our designers to realise new concepts that are efficient and resilient.

Passenger Journey

"How do we start flying again?"

Our Passenger Journey Document captures our initial thinking and is aimed at prompting discussion with airports and other interested parties, to fully understand the challenge and how we can assist going forward.
