The Middle East’s first cinema-themed hotel, the Aloft City Centre Deira, has been announced by the Commercial Interior Design Awards as a Hotel Interior Design of the Year 2018 finalist.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Pascall+Watson provided architectural design and delivery services for the 28,800m^² LEED Gold rated facility, which recently opened its doors for business.

Located in the historic heart of Dubai, the 304-bedroom, 4-star hotel developed by Majid Al Futtaim, includes a climate-controlled rooftop cinema and several bespoke suites specifically designed around movie-related themes such as Hollywood, Bollywood and super-heroes.

A carefully considered yet quirky interior design palette creates an environment that delivers far more than the usual corporate hotel experience.

The Commercial Interior Design Awards celebrate the projects, interior design firms and designers making their mark on the Middle East’s interior design industry.

This year’s winners will be announced at the award’s 12th annual gala event in Dubai, on Wednesday 19 September.
