Nottingham Hub Station, Station RedevelopmentNetwork Rail/Nottingham City Council

Key elements in the transformation of the Nottingham main line railway station included the extensive refurbishment of its Grade II* listed buildings, the creation of an impressive, light-filled passenger concourse from the original porte-cochère and the addition of a new concourse to the south east of the station building.

Enclosing the porte-cochère and making it traffic-free has created an open and welcoming concourse with a refreshing generosity of space. This spaciousness is also a feature of the newly opened up and highly ornate north and south corridors.

The project has greatly increased train, passenger and parking capacity and is proving to be a key mechanism in revitalising the surrounding area.
