Clongriffin Station, New StationIarnród Éireann
Clongriffin station was one of a number of new suburban train stations to be commissioned by Iarnród Éireann.
The station is a simple and elegant form which enabled the smooth flow of passengers from platform to the station plaza area. The station concourse is enclosed by glazed screens to the sides with a fabric space frame roof floating above station accommodation provided within two limestone clad accommodation pods to the east and west of the station entrance.
The design of the space-frame roof enabled the construction of the roof structure off-site, with installation of the roof taking only one night time possession of the Dublin to Belfast rail line. This provided a safe environment in which to construct the roof and minimised the disruption to the national rail network.Value: €11m
