Paphos International Airport, Terminal DevelopmentHermes Airport Consortium / Boygues

A complex phased development of Paphos International Airport delivered a 18,500m² terminal, capable of handling 4 million passengers per annum.

A particular challenge of this project was the very specific needs of both the end user and delivery consortium, all of which had to be managed and satisfied through the development of the design.

The building captures the ethos of the region, utilising materials, colours, images and symbols from across Cyprus. The sensitive meshing together of these elements creates a calm, unified environment, affording the travelling passenger a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

The clean, simplistic arrangement of the plan affords an intuitive sense of direction, each space, be it transitional or dwell, being easily readable in terms of its purpose.
