Varna Airport Awarded Building of the Year 2013December 2013
Varna Airport’s new terminal in Bulgaria, has won the Building of the Year award 2013 in the Projects that Contribute to the Development of Urban Environment – Transport Infrastructure Category. The awards were held in Sofia in December 2013 in a ceremony which celebrates Bulgaria’s best projects and designs of 2013.
The new passenger terminal at Varna Airport covers an area of 20 000 sq.m, three times larger than the area for passenger service of the old terminal. Terminal 2 has vast areas naturally lit for both arriving and departing passengers, modern facilities for passenger service and baggage handling and attractive retail areas, as well as comfortable open spaces.
