Rome Fiumicino North MasterplanOctober 2012
Pascall+Watson and URS won the international competition in 2010 and have recently completed the 2044 Masterplan of Rome Fiumicino Airport to increase the capacity to over 80 million passengers per year.
It includes two additional runways, new independent road and rail access, a single large passenger terminal designed to handle 48 million passengers per annum with an initial capacity of 35mppa, an airport city and associated landside commercial development together with the full range of traditional airport facilities.
A dedicated Ground Transportation Centre connects rail, landside APM, bus station, car parks, hotels and offices with the passenger terminal delivering a true modal interchange. The Masterplan includes a comprehensive environmental plan with many improvements and benefits proposed well beyond the airport boundary.
