Pascall+Watson Present Airport Vision to Indian GovernmentDecember 2017
Pascall+Watson have presented their vision and concept design for a new passenger terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport in Trichy, to the Indian Ministers of Civil Aviation.
Our scope for the 60,000m² scheme includes architectural design, terminal planning and design co-ordination.
The concept combines references from local heritage and culture with a contemporary architectural language, creating a sense of place and identity for passengers.
The GRIHA Four Star rated sustainable design maximises the use of natural light within the building and incorporates renewable energy measures, such as rainwater harvesting, ground source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels.
Due for completion in 2020, the airport will accommodate both international and domestic flights for over 3.5 million passengers each year.
The project complements our portfolio of work in India, which includes the concept design of new terminals at both Trivandrum and Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airports.
