Florence Airport StudySeptember 2012
Pascall + Watson have been commissioned by Florence International Airport to carry out a study to identify how the existing Main Terminal building can be expanded accommodate future growth whilst at incorporating the findings of the previous study carried out by Pascall+Watson to prepare a “New Approach to Florence Airport”.
The redevelopment will be carried out whilst maintaining the full functionality of the existing Terminal operations. This is a prestigious commission which will give us the opportunity to demonstrate our full range of design and aviation skills. The current thinking is to design a “loggia” across the face of the existing building to provide a covered connection to the new Tram station and MSCP as well as the proposed forecourt canopy. A green wall will effectively clad and screen the MSCP. This image was among those well received by the client last year plus early renders for what the new development might look like.
